Literally defined, fasting means to abstain “completely” from foods, drinks, intimate intercourse and smoking, before the break of the dawn till sunset, during the entire month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic year. But if we restrict the meaning of the Islamic Fasting to this literal sense, we would be sadly mistaken. When Islam introduced this matchless institution, it planted an ever-growing tree of infinite virtue and invaluable products. Here is an explanation of the spiritual meaning of the Islamic Fasting: It teaches man the principle of sincere Love: And the man who loves God truly is a man who really knows what love is. It equips man with a creative sense of hope and an optimistic outlook on life; because when he fasts he is hoping to please God and is seeking His Grace. It imbues in man the genuine virtue of effective devotion, honest dedication and closeness to God; because when he fasts he does so for God and for His sake alone. It cultivates in man a vigilant and sound conscience; because the fasting person keeps his fast in secret as well as in public. In fasting, especially, there is no mundane authority to check man’s behavior or compel him to observe fasting.

The child should be educated about his own Islamic heritage and should know that Islam preaches decency and chastity, and that what the child sees in the streets is the result of the deviation from the true religion, Islam.

Source and Authority about the Birth of Islam Islam is all about war. This page contains historical facts about the birth of Islam, of the religion called Islam. Zarin Koub was the foremost historian of Islam, as told to me by one of his grand nephews. What is an appropriate difference for a couple according to the Bible? While the Bible offers specific guidance when it comes to making important life decisions, the difficultly comes when there is no specific guidance from the Bible at all. Unfortunately, when it comes to this question, there is no prescribed biblical age gap. The Bible rarely gives us age examples in regards to marriage.
We do know that Abraham was 10 years older than Sarah. Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?
Isa Al-Bosnee Humans have always been social creatures and in need of friends and companions. Much of our lives is spent in interaction with others. For us Muslims who are living in a society where we are clearly a minority, the issue of choosing the right companions is essential for preserving our Deen. Befriending righteous and virtuous Muslims is an essential means for staying on the Straight Path.
Assalamu-alaikum, Hi again. There were a few comments I wanted to make about an article I read here titled – Dating in Islam Q & A. First of all, I am coming back after a long time so bear with me, in my attempts to learn how the site works.
I mean, the two people look at each other, they have strong sexual feelings about each other, the would probably kiss, after all, and eventually do the last act possible. Anyways, the Qur’an clearly tells believers both men and women to lower their gazes sights and guard their modesty see verses And it also tells believers that they should not even come close to adultery.
It doesn’t just say “Don’t commit” but it says “Don’t come close to” adultery see verse Now, if there is a different definition of dating which doesn’t include any of the aforementioned then I might add more details according to the new definition. Pickthal’s translation of the meaning of the verses mentioned above: And come not near unto adultery. Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest.
That is purer for them. Allah is aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women’s nakedness.
Arlandson A Muslim man is allowed to marry a Christian woman, but a Christian man is not permitted to marry a Muslim woman. I remember hearing an interview on the radio with a Muslim, a few years ago. As the interview began, the host asked the Muslim guest whether he was married. He replied that Islam is so open and tolerant that he is married to a Christian. Islam means equality and no discrimination. However, the quick-minded interviewer asked him if Islam allows a Jewish man or a Christian man to marry a Muslim woman.
Question: “What does the Bible say about dating / courting?” Answer: Although the words “courtship” and “dating” are not found in the Bible, we are given some principles that Christians are to go by during the time before marriage. The first is that we must separate from the world’s view on.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger. Dear bother in Islam, thank you very much for having confidence in us, and we implore Allah to guide you to the best and to direct you to that which pleases Him, Amen. It stands to reason that having a girlfriend is not the manner of a Muslim. It is forbidden for a male Muslim to have a girlfriend, as it is forbidden for a female Muslim to have a boyfriend.
Tackling this point in details,Dr. Muslims should have good relations with all people, males as well as females, at school, at work, in you neighborhood etc. You should be kind and courteous to everyone. However, it is not allowed in Islam to take a non-mahramperson or persons of the opposite gender as a very close friend.
An introduction to the occult activities of the Jinn and how to get protection from them. Voodoo, Black magic, Poltergeists, Witchcraft and Mediums can all be explained through the world of the Jinn. Likewise, so can the illusions and feats of magicians. Because the Jinn can traverse huge distances over a matter of seconds, their value to magicians is great.
Islam does not stop at encouraging its followers to respect and be kind to their friends; it also encourages them to be kind to their parents’ friends too, in recognition of the virtue of kindness and loyalty and in order to establish these values as an essential part of Islamic life.
This question is highly vexed and impossible to answer, as there are not one but many stances, not one but many Islamic schools of thought, and scholars have rightly offered much-needed criticism of the idea that there is one monolithic body called Islam that can be consistent over time and space, let alone have stances. Friends and family embrace each other outside of Orlando, Florida’s police headquarters after the Pulse nightclub massacre on June Since I am no theologian, I defer here to thinkers who have meditated deeply on the place of sexual diversity within Islamic cultures.
As scholar Khaled el-Rouayheb explains in his historical survey of same-sex desire in the Islamic world from to , sexual identity categories we use today have not been relevant Islamic categories. The human subjects he studies may have engaged in copious amounts of same-sex acts without ever speaking of what they were doing in terms of identity, or developing communities of like-minded individuals around these practices.
Muslims do believe, however, that it is their duty to seek out marriage and have children, which is not the same thing as sticking to a sexual orientation, though some have interpreted it as such.
Sorcery is absolutely forbidden. However, let us try to discover why Islam forbids it. Remembering that Islam is a way of life, not just a set of beliefs that people may or may not practice, we find that sorcery is forbidden because of the damage it can do to individuals, families and the community. Since the dawn of time, human beings have been fascinated by sorcery in all its forms.
Islam and friendship: Islamic Sayings on Friendship or Friendship Sayings (Friendship Stories) Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) stated, “The believer is like a mirror to other believers (in truthfulness).” Like a mirror, your friend gives you an honest image.
In relation to this revered bond, there are many verses of the noble Quran and countless ahadith that encourage marriage for any single man or woman – of any age or background. This is not only limited to the young brothers and sisters who have never been married and are looking for their life mate, but even those who have been through divorce have also been encouraged to re-marry and to “complete” their faith.
From the ocean of traditions and verses of the Quran on this topic, we quote the following: Allah SwT even gives us a guarantee that if we are poor or lack the proper funds, still we should not delay the marriage as Allah will take care of the couple and grant them bounties from His Grace and Mercy. Thus, one must not resort to evil, sin or illicit sexual relationships because they cannot find a permanent spouse.
One such avenue open to those who cannot afford to marry a woman in Nikah, as the Quran has commanded us and the numerous ahadith from the Prophet of Islam S and his 12th Infallible successors, the Aimmah as have done is to perform the Muta and marry a man or woman in “temporary marriage” so as to be able to fulfill our natural desires in a legal and permitted means: So those women whom you marry for an appointed time, you must give them their agreed upon dowries.
In another verse of the Quran, Allah SwT compares the husband and wife to garments for one another: Not only does our dress act as a beautification for ourselves, but it also covers any defects that we may have on our physical body – thus, if a person has a scar or burn mark on his body, the clothing will cover this from others around him and thus, they would not know that he has such a physical ‘defect’. The husband and wife are to play the same role in relation to one another.
If the wife has spiritual defects or lacks something in her character, then the husband must cover these up and not expose her shortcomings to others. The wife too, must cover up and hide her husband’s deficiencies and weaknesses and protect her mate. Not only has Allah SwT commanded the believers not to make fun of one another and not to mock or ridicule others, but they are also supposed to protect the honour and integrity of one another.
Please forgive me for asking you the same question, I am quite desperate for an answer and this is why I am asking you once again. Please will you kindly find time to answer my question – jazak Allah khairun; I would very much like to know the opinion of the shaykhs about what the Quran and the Sunnah say about disabled or special-needs children.
My knowledge about Islam is average and I have learnt a great deal from your site, as this is a personal area for me and as my family particularly my mother is very upset that both my children are autistic.
Almost all futurist Bible prophecy students will agree that there are three end time wars involving Israel. However, we disagree somewhat on the timing of first two wars. Those wars being the Ezekiel Chapter 38 and 39 war where Gog comes down with a host of nations and the Psalm 83 war where a confederacy of nations attempts to cut Israel off from being a nation. In the mix somewhere is the destruction of Damascus since the prophecy has never been fulfilled yet.
I have heard enough about this book to know that Bill Salus makes a strong case for the war of Psalm 83 coming first. I believe the premise is that after the aftermath of the Psalm 83 war that brings the destruction of Damascus, Israel will expand its borders. That will allow Israel to have the security that is implied by Ezekiel at the time of the Gog invasion. At that time Russia will come down with a host of nations against Israel and God will intervene.
ORG Dating is getting to know each other. However the dating that is vogue in North America involves intimate relationship such as touching, kissing, petting, necking that ultimately results in pre-marital sex. The women used to wear long chaste dresses and their dating did not involve the close intimacy that we see today. No premarital sex is allowed in Islam.
We should choose the friend that believes in and abide by our religion (Islam) and gives great respect to what Allah (SWT) and Prophet Muhammad (saw) had ordered us. And we should stay away from the one who is not well mannered and gives no attention to what Islam is about or what pleases or displeases Allah (SWT), for he will surely affect us negatively.
